The Quiet World of Moss

Description

A Japanese Moss Garden Experience in Nikko

Across Japan, moss grows quietly beneath trees, between stones, along temple paths, and throughout gardens shaped over generations. More than decoration, it softens the landscape, connects designed spaces with nature, and gives Japanese gardens their sense of age and continuity.

With its forests, moisture, stone, and flowing water, Nikko is an ideal place to discover this living art. During this private experience, guests learn how moss grows, how it is cared for, and how it influences the atmosphere of a Japanese garden.

Led by second-generation moss specialist and artist Kitashima Masumi, the experience combines nature observation, Japanese gardening knowledge, and peaceful creative work.
